Master Scuba Diver

The Master Diving certification is considered the highest level of non-professional recreational diving. The Master Diver course is a continuing education certification course for divers who wish to increase their understanding and enjoyment of diving. Emphasis is on student participation and practical application of knowledge in open water after a classroom discussion of subjects. This course is an excellent progression toward NAUI Leadership roles. Some subject areas are a review and expansion of material from previous courses. Each subject area is a progression in study not a definitive study in the particular diving activity. However, instructors will specify performance objectives for related course diving activities; for example, during a navigation dive the student will swim a reciprocal course to within 3m (10 ft.) of its origin.

Requirements for this course include Rescue Diver certification or equivalent. As a certified diver, it is expected that you will furnish and be responsible for the care and maintenance of your own diving equipment. We will assist you in checking that all your gear is adequate and in proper working order.

Knowledge training includes a review and further expansion of topics, including Applied Sciences, Dive Equipment, Diving Safety, Diving Environments, Dive Navigation, Night and Limited Visibility, Search and Recovery, and Deep and Simulated Decompression.

Practical training includes a pool dive and least 8 open water dives at depths up to 130 feet at a variety of diving sites and conditions. Skills practiced are targeted toward applying your new knowledge to the specific activities of the dives conducted and are expected to be performed at a level significantly higher than that expected of divers at previous levels.

Pricing for the Master Diving course varies, based on the agreed upon dive plan.
