The Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver course is the next step in your dive journey. It is an enjoyable program of continued supervised experience designed to introduce divers to a variety of diving activities and to be taught in an open water setting.
Areas of instruction include: dive planning, handling stress , underwater navigation, limited visibility diving, and deep diving. Additional instruction is based on your elective dives.
Requirements for this course include Open Water Scuba Diver certification or equivalent. As a certified diver, it is expected that you will furnish and be responsible for the care and maintenance of your own diving equipment. We will assist you in checking that all your gear is adequate and in proper working order.
Practical training includes at least 1 pool session to review and improve your underwater skills. At least 6 open water dives will be performed. Three dives are required to demonstrate proficiency in Underwater Navigation, Night or Limited Visibility, and Deep Diving (to a maximum of 130 feet). You can select an additional three elective dives in the areas of Surf Diving, Boat Diving, Dive Computer Training, Conservation, Search and Recovery, Wreck Diving (external survey), and Underwater Digital Imaging.
Pricing for the Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver course varies, based on the agreed upon dive plan. In addition, Nitrox Diver can be added for only $120, if completed with the Open Water Scuba Diver course.
