Open Water Scuba Diver

The Open Water Scuba Diver course is where you begin your journey. In this course you will learn the fundamental knowledge and skills to scuba dive and engage in open water diving activities without supervision, provided the diving environment, activities, areas dived, and the equipment approximate those of training.

Areas of instruction include: basic diving equipment, diving skills, diving science, decompression tables and computers, dive planning and recording, dive safety, and problem solving.

Practical training includes pool sessions and at least 4 open water dives. The first 2 open water dives will be in the springs of Central Florida. The last 2 dives can be conducted at a variety of locations.

Requirements for this course include a novice level ability to swim, survival swim for 10 minutes,  swim underwater for 50 feet on one breath, and swim 450 yards nonstop, breathing on a snorkel.

Pricing for the Open Water Scuba Diver course varies, based on your desires for the last two dives. In addition, Nitrox Diver can be added for only $120, if completed with the Open Water Scuba Diver course.

This entry-level course meets the requirements for ISO Level 2- autonomous diver certification.
