The Enriched Air Nitrox Diver specialty course provides you the knowledge and skills to use Enriched Air (Nitrox) on recreational dives. Nitrox allows divers to extend their bottom time and enjoy longer dives without having a required-decompression obligation. In this course you will learn the fundamental knowledge and skills to scuba dive with up to 40% oxygen enriched air, including the understanding of the benefits and limitations of Nitrox diving.
Areas of instruction include basic gas theory, pressure theory, physiology of diving and Nitrox, how to choose the best Nitrox mix, how to use Nitrox dive tables and computers, how Nitrox is mixed and, how to analyze your breathing gas.
Requirements for this course include Open Water Scuba Diver certification or equivalent, unless this course is completed with the Open Water Scuba Diver course.
Practical training includes the procedure for analyzing breathing gas, using an instructor-provided Oxygen Analyzer.
Pricing for the Enriched Air Nitrox Diver specialty course is $150. In addition, Nitrox Diver can be added for only $120, if completed with either the Open Water Scuba Diver or Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver course.
