The Search & Recovery Diver specialty course is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge to do underwater tasks commonly needed by an experienced recreational diver and to minimize the risks of such tasks while searching for and recovering items that have been lost in the aquatic environment.
Areas of instruction include dive planning and preparation, safety, hazards and cautions, special risks of search and recover, underwater navigation, limited visibility and, search methods, procedures and equipment for salvage or recovery of objects up to 50 lbs.
Requirements for this course include Open Water Scuba Diver certification or equivalent. As a certified diver, it is expected that you will furnish and be responsible for the care and maintenance of your own diving equipment. We will assist you in checking that all your gear is adequate and in proper working order.
Practical training includes at least 2 open water dives at depths up to 60 feet.
