The Wreck Diver (External Survey) specialty course provides you with the knowledge and skills to plan and conduct external surveys around sunken vessels, aircraft or debris fields while minimizing risks.
Areas of instruction include dive planning and preparation, safety, hazards and cautions, special risks of overhead environments, entanglement, limited visibility, deep diving, equipment (additions and modifications), location of wrecks, sources of information, search methods, underwater navigation, legal aspects, artifacts, treasure, salvage, and archaeology.
Requirements for this course include Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver certification or equivalent. As a certified diver, it is expected that you will furnish and be responsible for the care and maintenance of your own diving equipment. We will assist you in checking that all your gear is adequate and in proper working order.
Practical training includes at least 2 open water dives at depths up to 130 feet.
